Rodale’s Marcie Avram and Meredith’s Keith Sedlak Elected
New York, NY (May 17, 2007) – As the Custom Publishing Council (CPC)
enters its ninth year, two new board members have been elected to oversee strategic planning for the growing organization. Marcie Avram, Associate Publisher/Marketing and Business Development of Rodale Custom Publishing and Keith Sedlak, Managing Director of Meredith Integrated Marketing, were elected by the seven current board members.
A former journalist with extensive experience in both marketing and publishing, Marcie Avram joined Rodale in 2002, bringing a strategic marketing focus to the company’s new custom publishing leadership team. Over the past five years, she has successfully marketed Rodale Custom Publishing to the business community, and as part of the leadership team, has helped grow the business ten-fold. Prior to this, Avram worked for Meredith Integrated Marketing, where she served as Senior Director of Marketing. At Meredith, Avram launched a sophisticated marketing effort, including a proprietary quarterly newsletter and an annual gathering bringing together industry thought leaders.
With extensive experience on both the client and publishing side of the custom publishing business, Keith Sedlak serves as Meredith Integrated Marketing’s Managing Director. In this position, he is responsible for Business Development, Marketing and Advertising Sales where he has been a significant contributor to the success Meredith Integrated Marketing has experienced during the past 4 years. His unique understanding of offline and online marketing, having spent several years in both, enables him to provide the strategy desired by clients in today’s changing marketplace. He became familiar with the digital aspects of the business while working for Alta Vista and Lycos and puts this knowledge to work at Meredith to capitalize on the increasingly internet-focused environment. Prior to his time at Meredith, Keith represented The Wall Street Journal in advertising sales and served as Sales Manager of Global Reports.
“We are thrilled to welcome two dynamic new members to our Board of Directors,” said Michael Winkleman, the chairman of the board and president of Leverage Media. “As custom publishing continues to grow exponentially, the CPC will be looking to keep up with a rapidly changing business environment. Both Marcie and Keith bring varied areas of expertise, from marketing and content development to publishing, and their insight will be invaluable to planning for the CPC’s future and increasing our membership base.”
