ALBERTO APODACA PROMOTED TO FASHION DIRECTOR AT TRAVEL + LEISURE MAGAZINE

NEW YORK, NY– Travel + Leisure magazine Senior Vice President and Publisher Julie McGowan promoted Alberto Apodaca from senior fashion manager to fashion director, effective immediately. Apodaca continues to report to Anthony Cenname, T+L advertising director, non-travel.

Fashion and retail advertising is up 19 percent through the July issue as compared to the same period in 2006. Apodaca is credited with breaking the following accounts in the last year: Brooks Brothers, Chanel, Cole Haan, Gucci, Kenneth Cole, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Ralph Lauren, and Victorinox Swiss Army.

“Alberto’s ability to identify and foster important relationships with key fashion accounts has contributed to our solid growth across our non-endemic business. Alberto’s fearlessness, professionalism, and enthusiasm make him such an asset to our team,” said McGowan.

Before joining T+L, Apodaca worked at Talk magazine from 1999 to 2002 as a founding sales team member with the title of fashion manager. Earlier, as advertising director of Condé Nast International, Apodaca headed CNI advertising sales for the U.S. market, as well as the American fashion list for CNI titles, such as Paris Vogue, German Vogue and Spanish Vogue. From 1997 to 1998, he executed ad sales for Italian Condé Nast with titles including L’Uomo, Vogue, Vogue Italia and Vogue Gioiello. Apodaca began his career at Details magazine in 1996.
